The injection system plays a vital role for the performance, fuel consumption and emissions of a diesel engine: It makes sure that the diesel fuel is injected into the combustion chamber of each cylinder – with extreme precision and under pressure of up to 2000 bar. While older engine generations with mechanical injection use in-line or individual injection pumps and mechanical injectors, modern DEUTZ engines make use of the DEUTZ Common Rail system (DCR®) with electronic injection. The trend towards increasing injection pressures and strict emission regulations places highest demands on quality, performance and reliability of all components that are part of the fuel injection system.
