DEUTZ AMERICAS
In 2024, DEUTZ Americas generated revenue of over US$ 550 million. The acquisition of Blue Star Power Systems has made the region the center of the new DEUTZ Energy business unit. Our portfolio has also grown thanks to the addition of new employees, products, and customers after we took over Rolls-Royce’s Power Systems activities. The service business continues to deliver record results. Our tenth DEUTZ Power Center went into operation in Virginia in November. In South America, the Brazilian market is proving to be particularly successful. DEUTZ Americas received the JLG Partnership Excellence award in 2024, the highest supplier accolade that JLG bestows on its partners.
DEUTZ HERSCHBACH
The plant in Herschbach made advances in technology in 2024, boosting the efficiency and quality of its production once more. For example, the use of a new turning machine with robots allows more components to be processed in a single operation. A modern hardening machine for rocker arms has been linked to an automated process in which the entire module is assembled. We have also expanded the standardized regular reporting procedure to include production in order to further improve shopfloor management. Preparations are currently under way for the relocation to the new logistics hall.

DEUTZ COLOGNE
In April 2024, assembly line 6 for 4–8 liter engines went into operation in our new cutting-edge assembly system, the first DEUTZ hydrogen 7.8 engines were built and approved in series assembly in hall 41, and we forged ahead with our automation campaign in shaft production. Besides these technical innovations, 2024 was also dominated by training initiatives for our leadership team and continuing professional development for employees with regard to optimized processes. We have improved and standardized regular reporting procedures at all plants – and enhanced problem-solving skills in the local teams.
DEUTZ ULM
2024 was an important year for our Ulm plant. Our former Munich-based subsidiary Torqeedo relocated its battery assembly to Ulm. We renovated an annex to allow the first small-scale production runs of DEUTZ battery products to be assembled. The new hardening facility for crankshafts – a facility that was previously operated for process validation using a bypass method – is now integrated into the production processes, creating scope for further increases in efficiency and quality. We also established new communication tools to inform our employees directly and transparently about current developments and relevant topics.
DEUTZ ZAFRA
At our Spanish DEUTZ site, we commenced production of prototypes for the DEUTZ 3.9 and JD4 engines for John Deere and created new capacity for the production start-up of DEUTZ 3.9 engine components in 2025. We also completed work on a pilot facility that, from 2025, will generate renewable energy based on green hydrogen using the new DEUTZ TCG 7.8 H2 engine. The DEUTZ Global Service Center doubled its capacity and the DEUTZ Business School continued its successful e-learning and digitalization project.
