Hybrid systems move that limit. Range Extender
Power on board – for maximum operating time
The range extender generates its own power. A proven DEUTZ combustion engine drives a generator and charges the high-voltage battery of the electric drive when needed – for instance once a defined state of charge is reached. At the same time, it supplies other electrical consumers.
That makes long operating times possible without depending on battery capacity or charging infrastructure alone.

Parallel Hybrid
Extra power exactly when it's needed
In the parallel hybrid, the combustion engine and electric motor work together. Depending on the application, one carries the main load while the other cuts in as needed – to absorb load peaks, raise performance or cut consumption.
That lowers fuel consumption and emissions while raising performance and productivity at the same time.
