DEUTZ introduces technical innovations in its security and defense portfolio at EUROSATORY 2026

  • DEUTZ represented for the first time at leading trade fair for defense and security
  • Featuring a powerpack in cooperation with RENK
  • Demonstratig innovative and combined drive and energy system solutions for military applications

Cologne, June 10, 2026 – From 15 to 19 June 2026, DEUTZ, a system provider of innovative and sustainable mobility and energy solutions, will be present at EUROSATORY 2026 for the first time, introducing its portfolio tailored to the specific requirements of the security and defense sector. With its presence at show, the company underlines its strategy and central role providing mission-critical mobility and energy solutions.

"As an industrial partner, we have the ability to scale technologies, ramp up production capacities quickly and thus make a decisive contribution to Europe's defense capability," emphasizes DEUTZ CEO Dr Sebastian Schulte. “A key contribution comes not only from our robust and high-performance drive systems, but also from our advanced energy supply solutions for military applications.”

With its Business Unit Defense, DEUTZ is bundling its activities in the security and defense sector. The company combines its technical and industrial expertise to meet the specific requirements of military applications.

"As a system provider of reliable and innovative drive and energy systems for military applications, DEUTZ is helping NATO forces worldwide to be ready for deployment," explains Marco Herre, CEO of the DEUTZ Business Unit Defense. "Whether on land or in the air – our technical defense ecosystem ranges from internal combustion engines, innovative hybrid and electric drives for vehicles and drones to decentralized energy supply and storage solutions. In doing so, we are also focusing on the increasingly important field of unmanned defense systems."

At EUROSATORY 2026, DEUTZ will be showcasing three innovations, among others:

800 kW defense powerpack with RENK (motor plus transmission)

DEUTZ and the RENK Group are jointly unveiling a newly developed 800‑kilowatt powerpack for tactical defense vehicles for the first time. The integrated engine-transmission solution combines a high performance V8 engine from DEUTZ with an advanced transmission system from RENK and is specially engineered to meet the demanding operational requirements of modern tactical tracked platforms.

The powerpack delivers high power density, outstanding mobility, and reliable performance under extreme environmental and operating conditions. It has been designed to support rapid acceleration, high maneuverability, and maximum operational readiness while maintaining a compact installation footprint. The new powerpack has been designed with a strong focus on modularity and serviceability, enabling flexible integration into various vehicle architectures and simplified lifecycle support.

Modular, intelligent and relocatable energy management system GridCube

GridCube, jointly developed by DEUTZ and HDC Solutions, connects and controls multiple energy sources and storage systems with a variety of consumers in a single integrated architecture. The public power grid can be integrated as an energy source, too. GridCube is characterized by its modular design and intelligent prioritization of both loads and customers.

In the event of grid instabilities, blackouts, or insufficient primary generation capacity, the compact modular hardware system dynamically reallocates available energy resources and ensures the continuity of critical operations and consumers. That way, it maintains the operational readiness of protected sites – such as federal properties, critical domestic infrastructure, or military camps in the event of defense operations – even under highly degraded power conditions, thereby providing the basis for comprehensive national defense capability.

GridCube is an initial result of a partnership between DEUTZ and HDC Solutions, in cooperation with the Institute of Thermodynamics and Sustainable Propulsion Systems (ITNA) at Graz University of Technology. DEUTZ contributes its core strengths in the areas of industrial hardware, system integration, and scalable production capacities. HDC Solutions provides the software intelligence layer, enabling advanced energy management, prioritization, and control. The partners are convinced that protecting and supplying critical infrastructures requires new approaches to energy generation, distribution, and prioritization. For DEUTZ, this is a further step in expanding its activities in the field of resilient energy systems for defense and critical infrastructure applications.

Fuel pump solution for unmanned flight applications

DEUTZ is underlining its commitment to the fast-growing unmanned systems segment with a development by its subsidiary SOBEK, presenting a new high-performance fuel pump at the show that has been developed specifically for applications in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The fuel pump is engineered for high reliability, lightweight construction, and precise fuel delivery under demanding flight conditions. It supports extended mission durations and enhances the performance of UAV propulsion systems across a variety of use cases.
