DEUTZ takes part in engineering initiative

  • DEUTZ invites schoolchildren to its technology centre
  • Young people visit company to get a taste of engineering careers
  • Historical collection traces history of combustion engines

This year DEUTZ AG is once again taking part in the 'Erlebnis Maschinenbau' initiative. On 18 June 2015, young people with an interest in technology have the opportunity to visit participating companies to learn about careers, qualifications and prospects in the engineering sector and to find a vocation that's right for them.

At DEUTZ AG the schoolchildren are being given a presentation about the company and its spectrum of products, and on a tour of the historical engine collection at the DEUTZ technology centre they'll discover the fascinating story of the combustion engine.

"Actively supporting young people in their choice of career is very important to us. Initiatives such as the Erlebnis Maschinenbau day not only give them the chance to find the right vocation, but also allow us as a company to show how exciting an engineering apprenticeship can be," says Dr Margarete Haase, member of the Board of Management of DEUTZ AG.

DEUTZ offers school-leavers vocational training of the highest quality in six different occupations. DEUTZ apprentices regularly score above-average marks in the Chamber of Industry and Commerce-certified exams. And now, for a third year in succession, Cologne's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has awarded the DEUTZ apprenticeship scheme its 'Best performer' seal of approval. The scheme also benefits a number of other companies that contract out their vocational training either in part or in full to DEUTZ.
