DEUTZ at the 49th VDBUM seminar: “The ideas of today driving the solutions of tomorrow!”

  • Opportunities in electrification with drive technology from DEUTZ
  • Augmented reality app speeds up service processes

From February 11 to 14, 2020, DEUTZ is showcasing its innovative drives, digital services, and electrification solutions for off-highway applications at the 49th VDBUM Seminar in Willingen. ‘The ideas of today driving the solutions of tomorrow!’ is the slogan for this year’s event, which is organized by the German association for the construction industry, environmental technology and machine engineering (VDBUM). DEUTZ is exhibiting at the seminar alongside its partners Henkelhausen, Kolben-Seeger, IBH, and Svendsen.

DEUTZ is taking the opportunity to showcase its TCD 9.0, which has been awarded the accolade “Diesel Engine of the Year”. This 9 liter cubic capacity four-cylinder engine generates 300 kW and has been especially designed for heavy-duty construction equipment and agricultural machinery. Visitors to the seminar will also be able to test the revolutionary augmented reality app DEUTZ Advanced Live Repair. This provides real-time information to mechanics equipped with tablets that helps them to carry out targeted maintenance work on DEUTZ engines.

DEUTZ is offering individual combinations of diesel, gas, hydrogen, hybrid and electrified drives as part of a modular product system. ‘Opportunities in electrification with drive technology from DEUTZ’ is the title of the keynote speech being given by Michael Eisentraut, Vice President of Electrification at DEUTZ AG, on Thursday (February 13). In it, he explains why construction equipment is among the sectors that can benefit from the cost savings and eco-friendly credentials offered by electric drives.
