You’ve chosen to pursue an industrial-technical or an IT career? DEUTZ is your opportunity. We place great value on the practice-oriented education and training of our apprentices. Pedagogically trained and experienced trainers convey knowledge and skills that meet the highest standards. To do this, our instructors work with the most modern educational tools.

In-house training plans ensure that the content of the respective profession is optimally conveyed, including assignments in the training workshop and various operating departments with regular switches between theory and practice.

Our internal factory school perfectly complements the classroom at the vocational school. We also include activities such as the competence week and project work. In addition, we specifically encourage independent working, communication skills, teamwork and personal responsibility.

Intensive training for the final Chamber of Commerce and Industry examination rounds off the training with us.

In Cologne, we train the following professions:

  • Metal technology specialist (m/f/d) in the fields of assembly technology and machining
  • Industrial mechanic (m/f/d)
  • Materials tester (m/f/d)
  • Cutting machine operator (m/f/d)
  • Electronics technician (m/f/d)
  • Warehousing specialist (m/f/d)
  • Specialist for warehouse management (m/f/d)
  • Production mechanic (m/f/d)
  • Mechatronics technician (m/f/d)
  • IT specialist (m/f/d) system integration
  • IT specialist (m/f/d) application development


At the site in Ulm, we train the following professions:

  • Industrial mechanic (m/f/d)
  • Specialist for warehouse logistics (m/f/d)


DEUTZ offers apprenticeship as a cutting machine operator (m/f/d) at our location in Herschbach.


The selection procedure for our apprenticeships starts about one year prior to the actual start of the apprenticeship and consists of the following three steps.

  1. Step: Application with an application letter, a tabular resume, as well as copies of the last three testimonials
  2. Step: Completion of an aptitude test
  3. Step: A personal meeting in a personal interview
