The building blocks

You develop your own system architecture and draw on our components: 
the high-voltage PDU (Power Distribution Unit), high-voltage battery systems (LFP/NMC), e-motors, inverters, DC/DC converters and electric power take-offs. Plus the adapted software of the battery management unit (BMU), the control functions for drive and vehicle – PCU (Power Control Unit) and VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) – and thermal management on request.

Electrification Kit

The pre-assembled system

A fully pre-configured electric drive system: motor, power electronics, battery, BMU, controller and thermal management – mechanically and electrically matched, and pre-assembled in a customer-specific system frame.

For: OEMs who want to install in their series production rather than integrate.

Full Vehicle Conversion

The retrofit

We convert existing vehicles and machines to battery-electric or hybrid drives. Design, integration, software, testing and validation from a single source, built on our modular system kit – as a 400-volt system (E400) or an 800-volt system (E800). Conversion takes place at our DEUTZ site in Oss.

For: Prototypes, field trials and small series.

One driveline, two voltage levels

The electric drive system brings all the central components of a modern driveline together on one scalable platform – as a 400-volt system (E400) and an 800-volt system (E800), depending on power demand and installation space.

  • High-power e-motors for different power ranges

The kit adapts to your application – not the other way round: to different installation spaces, to different platforms, and to every vehicle function your machine needs in the field.

Functional safety across the entire driveline

Safety doesn't end at the component boundary. Whether an electric drive works reliably in tough off-highway use comes down to how the parts work together. That's why we develop, validate and test the system as a whole.

We develop to the ISO standard that applies to your application. Which performance level your machine has to reach follows from your risk assessment. We design the system to meet it – and prove that it does.

  • High-voltage safety to the applicable version of ECE R100, where required
  • Safety concepts for the complete system
  • Integration, risk analysis, validation and testing

The processes behind this come from the automotive industry. That's why we meet your standard – whichever one it is. And we move with it: standards change, and your machine should stay approvable after they do.

Our electric drive systems combine technical advantages with clear value for your customers:

  • Emission-free in operation: no exhaust, no fumes at the point of use. That opens up city centres, low-emission zones and indoor halls where a diesel is no longer allowed to work.
  • High energy efficiency: an electric drive turns a far larger share of its stored energy into mechanical power than a combustion engine. That lowers the energy cost per operating hour.
  • Quiet and low-vibration: markedly quieter running, noticeably less vibration. Good for city centres, municipal work and night shifts – and for the operator sitting on it for eight hours.
  • Better controllability: instant torque from the first revolution, fast response, precise metering, better manoeuvrability. You feel it in daily use.
  • Less downtime: fewer moving parts, fewer oil-based systems, longer maintenance intervals.

What that means for your fleet depends on your machine: on its duty cycle, your operating hours, your electricity price. Blanket TCO figures won't get you far. Instead, we run the numbers on your case – for your machine, your specific use, with your data.

 

Electrified Concrete Pump for Sustainable Construction Sites

With the BSA 1005 iONTRON, Putzmeister brings a fully electric solution for stationary concrete pumping to the construction site. At its core is a powerful electric drive system from DEUTZ, enabling emission-free operation while also helping to reduce noise levels.

The concrete pump has been developed for demanding construction site applications and combines high performance with a forward-looking energy concept. A battery capacity of 78 kWh, flexible charging options and an output of up to 47 m³/h support reliable operation throughout the working day.

In international field tests, the BSA 1005 iONTRON successfully demonstrated its practical suitability in demanding real-world construction site applications. The project shows how electric drive solutions from DEUTZ can help make mobile machinery more efficient, quieter and more sustainable.
