DEUTZ AG: Strong growth in engine supplies to Same Deutz-Fahr Group

The planned delivery of an additional 10,000 engines to the Treviglio-based Same Deutz-Fahr Group (SDF) until the year 2011 represents a substantial strengthening of DEUTZ AG's relationship with one of the world's largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery. DEUTZ will be supplying state-of-the-art,
four-cylinder tractor engines from its 2012 series (tier III) with power outputs ranging from 62 to 75kW over the coming years.

As part of the agreement, SDF will discontinue engine production at its principal plant in Italy and only continue to produce engines itself in India for the domestic Indian market and for low-range tractors, making DEUTZ the exclusive supplier of engines to SDF in key sales markets. This agreement with DEUTZ's strategic partner will almost double the number of engines supplied. In conjunction with the long-term growth trend in the market for agricultural machinery, it provides sound foundations for the
continuing success of the prestigious Cologne-based engine manufacturer in the agricultural machinery sector.

DEUTZ AG is one of the world's leading independent diesel engine manufacturers. As a full-line specialist, DEUTZ produces a wide range of liquid-cooled and air-cooled engines with power outputs ranging from 10kW to 500kW for various applications. Originally founded as N.A. Otto & Cie. in Cologne, Germany, in 1864, DEUTZ AG is now the world's oldest engine manufacturer. The Same-Deutz-Fahr Group, whose brands include SAME, Deutz-Fahr, Lamborghini and Hürlimann, is one of the world's largest agricultural machinery manufacturer and DEUTZ AG's main shareholder.
